The audiophile world has never lost its love for the EL84/6BQ5 tube, and neither have we. Driven by enduring demand, we are proud to debut the final and most refined version of the amplifier that first put us on the map: The EL84TT EVO.
A Legacy Perfected
The original EL84TT was one of our earliest successes, earning critical acclaim and numerous awards. It introduced our proprietary "S.E.A." front-end driver design, which allowed a push-pull amplifier to achieve the direct, immediate, and transparent character of a Single-Ended Triode (SET) design.
While the early 2000s originals were strictly point-to-point hand-wired, and late 2000s were moved onto PCB, we spent the last two decades perfecting the layout. Our modern hybrid construction uses a high-precision PCB for the sensitive front-end signals to ensure a lower noise floor and absolute consistency, while the high-voltage output stages remain hand-wired for maximum soul and durability.
The Best or Nothing: Hashimoto Transformers
For this final iteration, we have gone all-in with a full suite of Hashimoto (Sansui) Transformers. Japanese refinement and legendary durability are the standards here. Just as vintage Sansui units are still making beautiful music half a century later, the EL84TT is built to be a multi-generational heirloom.
No-Holds-Barred Components
We didn't stop at the iron. We have eliminated the "upgrade path" by including the best components from the start:
Coupling Caps: Audiophile-favorite Mundorf Silver in Oil.
Connectivity: Furutech AC Inlets and CMC USA connectors.
Control: Precision Alps volume switches (Japan) and Elma selectors (Switzerland).
Innovative Tube Rolling
How do you improve on a perfected circuit? By making it more versatile. We’ve moved from a pair of 12AX7s to a more dynamic arrangement: one 12AX7 driving a 12BH7/ECC99. This opens up a world of "tube rolling" possibilities, allowing you to voice the system to your personal taste without needing perfectly matched pairs.
An Uncompromising Power Supply
This is where the no-holds-barred philosophy truly shines. Most manufacturers cut costs on the power supply—we did the opposite.
Hashimoto Choke Transformer: Included as standard to ensure a quieter, more stable, and more "musical" delivery.
Oversized Power Transformer: We upgraded to a higher-class Hashimoto transformer that runs cooler and handles peaks with ease.
Performance for the 99% (and the 1%)
By default, the EL84TT ships in Ultra-Linear 10W Class Autobias mode. This provides the finesse of a triode with the bass authority and power of a pentode—the ideal match for 99% of modern speakers.
For the 1%: If you possess high-efficiency speakers (the $30k+ tier), we offer a bespoke Push-Pull Triode version featuring our flagship, potted 10K Hashimoto 40W-sized output transformers.
